Communications Coordinator (work-study eligible)

Description

Wendland-Cook program is looking for a qualified intern to join our team to handle both internal and external communications.

Intern will work on a team with the Program Director, Associate Director and Program Fellows as well as with other university staff handling various aspects of communications and marketing for the program and sponsored events. 

Responsibilities

  • Assist in creating content for web and email marketing

  • Assist in updating program website

  • Assist in developing and sending weekly email newsletter

  • Editing and proofreading program content

  • Enter contact information into contact management system

  • Provide support to social media efforts

  • Monitor social media accounts 

  • Track and monitor communications projects

Requirements

  • Vanderbilt University student interested in social movements related to economic and ecological justice

  • Eligible for work study and able to work at least 10 hours per week

  • Ability to attend events on evenings, weekends and off-campus 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of social media

  • Knowledge of web and email marketing tools

  • Self-motivated and hard-working

  • Ability to take direction and multi-task

  • G Suite experience a plus
